Fitted bedroom specialists DM Design has rounded up the design trends that have been making headlines in 2017, so that you are ready to make the most out of your design investment heading into the latter half of the year:
Industrial designs going from strength to strength
Industrial design is still looking great throughout the home, as it has done for the past few years and especially in our kitchens. You don’t have to go all-out for a nod towards this trend – simply a table, or chairs, or a statement item in steel can achieve this look.
You should step outside of your comfort zone when it comes to choosing a colour scheme for the inside of your home and opt for a bright green. Green represents revitalization, as well as reflecting the current interest in bringing environmental sustainability into the home.
Warm up the home with fur
Fur is making its comeback throughout our homes, looking great on everything from furniture to rugs and even lamps. Instead of bringing out fur items as the winter months approach, add fur touches (in lighter tones) all year round for an instantly contemporary feel.
The appeal of a Bohemian, relaxed approach
Formality is being replaced with a more Bohemian, relaxed approach when it comes to décor. Plants, woven baskets and printed fabrics help to achieve this look in a cost-effective way.
Patterns and texture — it’s all about mixing them up
Want a dramatic twist to your interior design? Then try mixing patterns and texture throughout your home. A variety of florals all working together can look great – as can different thicknesses of stripes. An array of textures is also going to come through. Mix fabrics, wallpaper and different surfaces to catch the eye.
Go luxurious with jewel colours
Berry tones, rich greens, blues and turquoises — jewel colours are certainly in this year. So, add a hint of luxury with jewel colours, used as either accent colours or across whole walls.
