This represents:

  • A monthly increase of 0.3%
  • An annual increase of 0.9%
  • A reduction in the number of property transactions over the
  • last year, from 62,006 to 57,971

Regionally

As has been consistent with all House Price Indices, London has performed much better than the rest of Endgland and Wales, having never fallen back into negative monthly price changes since the large falls back on 2007-2009.

Indeed over the month of November the figures for London show an annual increase of 5.9% – considerably higher than other regions – with an average price at £362,592.

The next best performer annually was the East (2.4%), followed by the South East (2.1%). The worse annual performers were North East (-2.9%) and Yorkshire & Humberside  (-2.6%).

Regionally the Monthly changes show a different picture

When looking at the monthly figures however, things look somewhat different. The North East tops the charts with an increase of 2.4%, followed by the North West (1.2%).

At the bottom is Wales (-1.6%), which was also negative over the year, preceeded by Yorkshire and Humber (-0.6%).

House Type

When looking a the prices across house types, Flat/maisonettes have continued to perform well with a 1.8% increase over the year.

Semi-detached and Terraced properties were not too far behine with 0.9% and 0.8% respectively.
