The Bank of Englands Money and Credit release for July 2014 shows an increase in lending. Lending secured on dwellings was up by £2.3 billion compared to an average 6th monthly increase of £2.0 billion.

The statistical release also reports on the number of mortgage approvals, which for house purchases was 66,569. This was down on June 2014 and down against the previous 6 months. The value of the loans remained the same at £10.8 billion.

For remortgaging the number of loans was up to 32,983 with an increased value of those loans to £5.2 billion.
