Simon Zutshi’s presentation at the Manchester pin was excellent as always.

Simon initially did a market review, he believes that interest rates will only start go up when the economy recovers. But you obviously need to make sure that you have a robust strategy which creates excellent cash flow, so that when the interest rates go up you’ll have a secure business.
He has 5 golden rules for investors:
- Buy BMV
- Strong rental demand
- Be cash flow positive
- Have a cash buffer
- Long term strategy
These rules totally made sense to me and is a really sensible strategy.
He then went through a mindset and goal setting session to help us ensure that 2010 was successful for us all. Simon shows us the Rapid Results System that he uses, which ensures that you set actions and prioritise them. Also you need to do something every day to move you towards your goal. This is something that Jeff Olson also discusses in his excellent book “The Slight Edge”.
All in all it was a great meeting. Some great networking was done and I met some great people. I’ve just met up again this afternoon with a guy who used to run the National Franchise for Rich Dad Poor Dad’s Cashflow game. He worked very closely with Robert Kiyosaki, so he was a very interesting guy to talk to and I think we can do some great business together. You just never know who you’re going to meet at a networking event, so keep an open mind!
