Rohan Weerasinghe shares his views on the recession

What a fantastic meeting this week at “The Manchester Property Investor & Entrepreneurs Network”. Chris Rowell who organises the event challenged people to come up with a snappier name!

I was really looking forward to the meeting as the guest speaker was Rohan Weerasinghe.  I had seen him on a HFN video when he spoke at the Berkshire property meet last year.

Needless to say he didn’t disappoint.  Rohan is so full of energy and a brilliant speaker.  He is known to be a motivational speaker but he didn’t want to just motivate us, he wanted to leave us with something to build a business and a life strategy on.

Rohan discussed the recession and why he felt the world had gone into recession.  Interestingly he talked about the baby boomers and how they had a massive effect on the economy.  I’d heard all about the baby boomers before as this is discussed a lot in the Network Marketing industry.  It was a really interesting view.  He went through how many factors contributed to the recession; the baby boomers; the credit melt down; global market crash; key technology slowdown – there were of course many more but he stopped at those.

He talked a lot about demographics and statistics – and how you can focus your future strategy on them.

This could sound like a very dry presentation but it was really interesting and delivered in an energetic and enthusiastic way.

The view of Rohan Weerasinghe is that we are heading for Double dip recession.  It was quite a dark picture that he painted but then he showed us how we can set ourselves up to be successful during this period.  If you have the knowledge about what might happen then you can make sure you have everything in place to ride out the storm and come out the other side smiling!

He left us with 2 questions:

• What do you want in the next 5 years?
• What has to be in place?

Think differently……..

It was a brilliant evening; which gave you lots to think about, a bargain at just £10.  The next meeting is on February the 8^th; make sure you book early as Chris is expecting a full house!
