Rightmove.co.uk reported a cut in asking prices by sellers in its December 2010 House Price Index (HPI).
Rightmove goes on to forecast that sellers will continue to drop their asking prices in 2011.
“2011 a good year for: Landlords, job secure equity blessed trader uppers and deposit-rich. 2011 a bad year for: Forced sellers, deposit and equity poor, tenants and first-time buyers”
So asking prices are only just above those seen a year before. However the number of properties per Estate Agent is up on the same time last year, though not surprisingly down from the summer months. Yet the time of the market is also up from a year ago.
Regionally all but the far north have seen decreases between November and December.
