Land Registry HPI down in all regions - except the North West!
The Land Registry is seen as the most accurate independent house price index and it’s data for March reports a fall of -1.1% across.
This places the average house price for England and Wales at £160,996
Suprisingly this fall is also reflected in London with a -1.0% change, the only regional area not to report a fall was the North West with a 0.7% increase and an average house price of £116,446.
What this shows is that prices are indeed static with a slight downward trend and this is inline with reports from the other leading House Price Index organisations.
