Halifax today announced the September House Price Index (HPI), a 1.6% increase c
ompared to the previous month. They also announced the year on year House Price Index which showed prices 7.4% lower than September 2008.
However this is showing divergence from the Index announced last week by their rival Nationwide, which believed prices year on year to have returned to the same level as last year.
