The Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) today reported at 10.1% annual increase in it’s House Price Index for April 2010 – the last of the main four and always one month behind the other three major companies.
This is virtually identical to the growth reported by Nationwide for April and in line with that reported by Halifax. The mix-adjusted average house price according to DCLG for the UK now stands at £207,516 (not seasonally adjusted).
Although the headline figures shows a yearly increase, Scotland was marginal at 2.2% and Northern Ireland fell by -8.9%, the only region in the UK to fall.
