A massive increase in properties coming on the market, up 45% since last Month, sees sellers having to drop their asking prices, according to Rightmove’s new House Price Index (HPI) figures.

The governments own House Price Index figures from the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) has reported an increase of 11% from May 09 to May 10.

The RICS Housing Market Survey for June 2010 has reported a significant drop in the net price balance from it’s responding members, down from +21 to +9.

FindaProperty.com’s have reported a 2.3% increase since March 2010 in their recent Rental Index. This places the average rents at £839pcm. This interestingly coincides with a 2.7% drop in stock levels.

Halifax June House Price Index (HPI) has just been released, the second of the major June House figures, with house prices down -0.6% continuing the decline in May of -0.5%.
Although house prices were 6.3% higher than the same time a year ago, they are 0.1% down this quarter compared to previous.
